Not every Asian country boasts such a variety of fruits as Vietnam. And how long will you live here so that each year you discover new fruits for yourself.
The basis is classic tropical fruits such as mangoes, bananas, papaya, rambutans, sugar apple, etc., which are always grown here and sold throughout the whole year. They are inexpensive, rarely cost more than $1, and usually cheaper. For example, papaya – from 0.2 to 0.5 dollars per kg., Bananas – 0.5 dollars. And there are also many varieties of them, for example, mangoes or bananas, there are at least 5 species.
Some types of seasonality are added to ordinary fruits – mangosteen, lychee, durian. This is a premium class and the average prices is $2 per 1 kg.
The most expensive, elite – this is what we are so used to: pears, yellow oranges, apples, grapes, cherries, plums. Partially, the Vietnamese learned to grow something, for example, apples and strawberries in Dalat, grapes in Fanrang but really tasty fruits will be imported and mainly from the USA.
Interestingly, the Vietnamese often eat unripe fruits with spices and salt or use them as vegetables in cooking. Many fruits have truly healing properties. For example, durian is the only one in the world that contains sulfur and papaya reduces the risk of cancer, has anti-inflammatory properties and fights against parasites.
Vietnam is a fruit paradise, i.e. vitamin paradise, so anyway your body will have anything that you need.
